Our sister school from New Zealand, St. Peters’, came to visit us on April 10th and April 11th. Usually they visit every 2 years but, because of Covid-19, it has been 4 years since their last visit. We were so excited to have them back.
4月10日、4月11日にニュージーランドの姉妹校であるセントピーターズが来校されました。通常は2年に1度の訪問ですが、新コロナウイルスの関係で4年ぶりの訪問となりました。戻ってくることをとても楽しみにしていました。
This year, we had St. Peters’ students pair up with H1G, J3G, and J2G students. The NZ students followed their buddy’s schedules. They joined PE, music, math, social studies, and science classes. They did their best to follow along and they really enjoyed having a true Japanese school experience.
今年は、セントピーターズの学生に、H1G、J3G、J2Gの学生とペアを組んでもらいました。NZの生徒たちは、バディのスケジュールに従って行動しました。体育、音楽、数学、社会、理科の授業に参加し、一生懸命ついていきました。
On April 10th, we had a welcome ceremony. Our chaplain, Mr. Tsuboi lead us through a prayer service. And there were speeches from Principal Asai, Mr. Welsh(the St. Peters’ Japanese teacher), a Shoin student, and a St. Peters’s student. Each school also exchanged gifts with each other.
4月10日に歓迎式が行われました。チャプレンの坪井先生のご指導のもと、祈りの礼拝が行われました。そして、浅井校長先生、Welsh先生（St.Petersの日本語教師）、松蔭生、St.Peters生からスピーチがありました。また、各校でプレゼント交換も行われました。
After that, we had a Q and A session that was a lot of fun. Shoin students were very excited to learn more about the NZ students. We look forward to visiting them in July and having them visit us again in 2 years. At that time, we hope to have homestays again.
その後、質疑応答があり、盛り上がりました。松蔭生は、ニュージーランドの生徒のことをもっと知りたいと、とても興奮していました。7月にニュージーランドを訪問し、2年後に再び訪問してもらうことを楽しみにしています。その時は、またホームステイをしたいと思っています。
